Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited is the largest Paint manufacturer in Bangladesh. It has created a very effective and efficient distribution channel and manufacturing facilities with modern equipment distribution and skilled manpower. With the boom in real estate sector and other development and construction works it has widen the opportunity for paint business nationwide. This study comprises Stock valuation of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited by using Fundamental analysis. The information I have collected on finance Department were gathered from the day to day work experience and discussion with my colleagues. Fundamental analysis is economic, industry, and company analysis that lead to valuation estimates for companies, which can be compared to market prices to aid in investment decisions. The stock valuation technique is explained here by using Dividend Discount Model (DDM) and Earning Multiplier Model (EMM). This model finds value and compares that with the market price of share. Also here is used the development of trading rules based on past price and volume data for individual stocks, the overall stock market analysis and also the Prices moves trends.

Seminar paper from the year 2018 in the subject Business economics - Accounting and Taxes, grade: 1,0, LMU Munich (Instituts für Rechnungswesen und Wirtschaftsprüfung), course: Accounting, Auditing and Analysis (AAA), language: English, abstract: This seminar paper gives an overview on the literature of measuring customer value. A lot of companies have a very low book to market value e.g. Apple (0.15), Microsoft (0.14), Amazon (0.04!) and Facebook (0.14) as of December 2017. Though according to US-GAAP and IFRS annual reports should provide investors and prospect investors with decision useful information the balance sheet lacks certain intangible assets that are obviously driving the value of the firm. That are for example brand equity, organizational capital and customer equity. Such assets became more important so that not only for researchers but also for practitioners and standard setters there is an incentive to identify possibilities to measure such assets reliably to make better investment decisions or, for the latter, to increase the decision usefulness of the information provided in the annual reports. There is an increasing number of SBE (subscription based enterprises) or at least SB offerings which leads to an increasing number of balance sheets that do not sufficiently reflect the value of the firm. For a long time the value of customers was just a marketing issue and not in the focus of accounting researchers but due to the development described above it is getting into focus of accounting literature in the past decades (Gleaves, Burton, Kitshoff, Bates, & Whittington, 2008, pp. 827-832). There are several approaches to value customers, but they have in common that first the value of a single customer is derived the so called CLV (customer lifetime value), sometimes also referred to as CV (customer value). To value the customer base of a firm all CLVs are aggregate to derive the so-called CE (customer equity). The value a customer has for a firm is the sum of all discounted future contribution margins the firm can obtain from him (Berger & Nasr, 1998, pp. 18-19). Therefore, I first look at the eligibility of customer value as an asset. Afterwards I compare different approaches to derive the CLV then the approaches to derive the CE. Next, I analyze the literature concerning the link between performance and customer and show a possible calculation on the example of Netflix.

Citizen Capitalism
18,90 CHF *
zzgl. 3,50 CHF Versand

“This brave book, coming on the heels of the first author’s equally bold The Shareholder Value Myth, takes on an even bigger challenge. Its goal is to bring together civil engagement and corporate governance, free enterprise and cooperative participation, through the creation of a universal shareholder fund. Based on a mutual fund model, the proposal would broaden access, bend income distribution, and shift the leverage points in our political system away from oligarchic elites. Citizen Capitalism will contribute to the debate about the responsibility of the corporation for contributing to the public good as well as private profit.” — Sidney Tarrow, Emeritus Professor of Government, Cornell University, and author of Power in Movement   “This book offers a transformative plan to make corporate ownership and governance more inclusive. It attempts to harness corporate power and resources in the tackling of the challenges of poverty and empowerment. At the heart of the book is the relationship between corporations and society. Through their proposal, the authors strive for a synergic relationship benefiting society. With clinical precision and an extraordinary grasp of history, the book offers a brilliant diagnosis of critical issues facing the world in the field of corporate governance. This is an important and valuable book. It reminds us that the only legitimate end of corporate governance is the well-being of society.” —Muna Ndulo, Professor of Law; Elizabeth and Arthur Reich Director, Leo and Arvilla Berger International Legal Studies Program; Director of the Institute for African Development   “Corporations—like governments—play an essential role in the lives of every American. But most Americans have an extremely limited ability to influence corporate decision-making, and we all live with the consequences. Stout, Gramitto, and Belinfanti offer a bold and creative alternative: What if we had a tool that gave every American a say in how corporations are run—like a superpowered pension fund that made corporations accountable to more than the bottom line? This is a powerful and timely idea, and Citizen Capitalism makes the case extraordinarily well.” —Deborah N. Archer, Associate Professor of Clinical Law, New York University School of Law   “ Citizen Capitalism offers fresh thinking at a critical point in our understanding of the effects of shareholder capitalism—from scholars who effectively bridge theory and the practical world of investment, markets, and citizen communities. This book offers an audacious plan on how to use the rules of capitalism to address inequality. I strongly recommend it.” —Judy Samuelson, Executive Director, Business and Society Program, The Aspen Institute   “The very bold plan to democratize corporate governance detailed by Stout, Gramitto, and Belinfanti in Citizen Capitalism is sure to be controversial in some circles, but it will also catalyze long-overdue discussions about the role of business in our society. Read this book.” —Alice Korngold, Author of A Better World, Inc., and President and CEO, Korngold Consulting, LLC
